MY GRANDMOTHER WAS THE LIFE OF THE PARTY, AND WITH THE NAME AYOKA, IT’S NO WONDER.

In Yoruba (an ethnic group, religion, and language in Nigeria), Ayoka means ‘One who brings joy’ or ‘One who causes joy all around’. That was my grandmother. Although I didn’t get the chance to meet her before she passed, her spirit lives on in my family’s memories.

She had the biggest heart; happy and willing to help anyone in need. She was a proud business owner and (much like my whole family) an avid tea drinker too!

This platform is in honor of her giving spirit, her love of family, and also her love of tea.

This platform honors her legacy of joy.

My name is Sola Onitiri. I’m Ayoka’s granddaughter and I’m the founder and chief joy officer at AYOKA - a black owned small business in Philadelphia.

As a certified energy worker and holistic self-care coach, it is my distinct pleasure to craft products and experiences in service of our highest and greatest joy.

When I’m not creating and curating products for AYOKA I am writing and vlogging over at nowletsgetgoing.com - come say hi!
